Amanda T. Muskat

Overview

Amanda T. Muskat served as an Assistant United States Attorney in the Southern District of California from September 2019 to May 2022, when she joined Fitzgerald Knaier. As a federal prosecutor on a Trial Team in the Criminal Division, Amanda investigated, prosecuted, and tried federal criminal cases on behalf of the United States and its numerous law enforcement agencies.

Before joining the U.S. Attorney's Office in San Diego, Ms. Muskat practiced for nearly three years in the San Diego office of the AmLaw 100 firm of Mintz, Levin, Cohn, Ferris, Glovsky & Popeo, P.C. At Mintz, Ms. Muskat handled a variety of complex civil litigation matters and intellectual property disputes, and was active in the firm's pro bono efforts on behalf of domestic violence victims, asylum seekers, and indigent individuals.

Ms. Muskat is a 2016 graduate of the UCLA School of Law, where she served as the Chief Managing Editor of the UCLA Women's Law Journal. While in law school, she also served as judicial extern to U.S. District Judge Anthony J. Battaglia and to Ninth Circuit Judge Stephen Reinhardt. She has a B.A. from Grinnell College.
